What? Bodywork BootCamp? About now, you might be thinking, "I didn't join the army!"
Nope, you didn't. But the fact that you're reading this introduction probably means you've had some type of chronic stress, pain,
dysfunction or injury in your life. If so, you have joined the growing army of individuals who've had chronic
stress, pain, injury, dysfunction or trauma. Experts say that as many as 8 out of 10 people will have pain that hampers
work or play in their lives.
If you feel like a new recruit, don't worry. We won't ask you to hit
the floor and do 50 pushups. But when you've had back pain or some other form of pain once, there's
a 90 percent chance you'll have it again sooner or later. The key is knowing how to take care of problems when they happen
know how to lower your chances of future problems. That's what Bodywork Bootcamp is all about!
A successful military effort requires:
planning preparing responding - discipline.
Likewise, people who've had chronic stress, pain, dysfunction, trauma or injury, do best when they have a plan, when
they prepare, and when they respond using ideas and methods that work. Bodywork Bootcamp provides
the information and resources to help you succeed in this mission. We're counting on you to provide the needed discipline
by applying the tips and strategies you'll learn.
Bodywork Bootcamp is a scientific long term rehab program,
not just for individuals who have chronic pain or dysfunction, or some other debilitating issues, but those who want to start to
PREVENT some of the common issues that develop in our bodies as children! Adults don't often realize that young children
can be inflicted with stress and dysfunctions that make it harder for the child or adolesence to concentrate in school! Many
issues can be so subtle we assume the problem will correct itself, or some type of medication will correct it for us.
Bodywork Bootcamp uses many methods to help create better body
awareness, heal traumatized, injured tissues, and to reprogram the connections between the Central Nervous System and the
Musculoskeletal System. We use methods like Neuromuscular Therapy, a very specific type of methodical massage targeted at
specific muscle fibers, tendons & ligaments; Myofascial Therapy, releasing tension in the connective tissues around the
muscles and organs; Active Isolated Stretching which uses a specific approach to lengthening and realigning muscles for
greater flexibility; We might use acupressure and reflexology which help to balance organ function, and we might even
use Juggling Therapy! Juggling Therapy helps with decreased anxiety, and motor-skill development, as well as raises self-esteem,
self-confidence and self-motivation. It has been studied to even aid in reading & writing skills along with creativity!
Overall, it helps to balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain! Essentially, when you learn to juggle, you start
to use more of your brain, than any other type of activity!

What separates Bodywork Bootcamp from other massage or physical therapy
services is that we take into consideration the following physiological & neurological factors:
1. | Ischemia | 2.
| Trigger Points | 3. | Nerve Entrapment/Compression | 4.
| Postural Distortions | 5. | Nutrition | 6.
| Emotional Wellbeing |
And we try to follow a very scientific order of rehabilitation:
- 1.
Eliminate spasms and hypercontraction in the tissues (Manual therapy such a neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, structural
bodywork)
- 2. Restore proper biomechanics (Movement Therapy, Soft-tissue re-patterning,
structural bodywork, Cranio-Sacral Therapy)
- 3. Restore flexibility to the tissues
(Active Isolated Stretching)
- 4. Rebuild the strength of the injured tissues
(Active Isolated Strengthening)
- 5. Build endurance (Aerobic exercise, Juggling
Therapy)
***If this order is not followed, the client usually experiences
set-backs or re-injury to the tissues, emotional & mental stress and more.***

Each session, after you watch a Body Awareness Video, we
will take an assessment of your posture, by taking a picture of you in front of our special posture grid that will show you
any distortions that might be causing you pain, stress or dysfunction! Some types of distortion are: Forward Head Posture,
Lateral Tilt/Displacement, Forward Rotated Shoulders, High Shoulder/Low Shoulder, Hyper/Hypo Kyphosis or Lordosis, Scoliosis,
Forward/Backward Pelvic Tilt, High Hip/Low Hip, Pronated/Supinated Feet. We are not allowed to give diagnosis! This assessment
is strictly for educational purposes so that we are PREPARED to know how to approach the therapy process! We will have a better
idea which muscles need to be stretched & which ones will need to be strengthened and retoned.
